Hi
I'm a Taiwanese citizen who live in Perth, Australia. Me and my family are going to Phuket for two weeks from 19th December, but I've read it on the news the other day that from December 2016 to February 2017, there's no visa fee needed for Taiwanese citizens. I've rang the Thai embassy in Perth so many times since then, they still waiting for the proper paper or announcement from Thailand immigration, which is a bit worried me that we won't be able to get our visa on time. Can you please help with my situation? Thank you so much.
If you come to Thailand and obtain a visa on arrival at the airport, there is a fee and it is 1000 baht. If you obtain a proper tourist visa from a Thai embassy or consulate before you travel to Thailand, it is free of charge.
I am aware of someone permanently living in Thailand on a tourist visa. They go in and out for a day then back. They say they get a 3 month tourist visa twice a year and rest just go in for month and then extend arrival visa for a month. They have done that for years and plan to live there forever. I would like to also live in Thailand but am not sure it is legal. And I don't want to break your laws. What would the penalties be if one is caught doing that? Can you advise me please?
It is not illegal as long as they do not work under this visa.
Good day
I got my work permit on Jan 13th 2017 and was told to report after 90 days (April 12th) back to immigration. However in February 24th left Thailand and returned on February 26th 2017.
When does my 90 day report count?
Hi Mario,
Your 90-day count starts again on 26th of February.
